Agile Calling

  One of the mistakes that happens while sprint planning is full allocation of the team.  To understand this fallacy you need not look beyond a busy traffic junction or a near fully occupied RAM in your computer.  There is a reason it is called a "traffic jam" and a motivation for the great invention of CTRL+ALT+DEL 😀 No matter how detailed are the estimations, teams need breathing time and space to catch-up on any mishaps that occur during a sprint.  A fully allocated team deprives itself of that opportunity and may fail to complete the sprint on time. Next time you plan a sprint, keep a buffer of at least 10% efforts available and see how it goes!

Agile is now mainstream.  Gone are the days of questioning whether agile would work for me or not.  However, agility has not become common despite the plethora of knowledge base available.  The reason is the lack of an Agile Mindset in the first place without which we can only pretend to be agile and just keep doing the opposite.
